Royal Flying Doctor Service
RFDS have a weekly service to Etheridge Shire town's. A number of Allied Health and immunisation services are made available with the RFDS visits.

RFDS Near & Far Auxiliary
Our Auxiliary raises funds for the Royal Flying Doctor Service Cairns and Townsville Bases, allowing the purchase of much needed medical equipment in their aeromedical and clinic aircraft.
As our name says we stretch near & far, and what we really wanted to do was give everyone in the Etheridge Shire information on our Auxiliary and raise our profile in your community and outlying properties. I know that the RFDS is highly regarded in your area and we wanted to reach out and give everyone information on what the Auxiliary has been doing over the last few months.
At our last meeting in Atherton on Monday 25th March 2024 the RFDS Near & Far Auxiliary handed to Base Manager, Justin Reeves a cheque for $46000 for the purchase of an ultrasound machine & three tonometers (eye pressure device).
Queensland Health Visiting Health Services
Allied Health Team
Cairns & Hinterland Hospital and Health Service regularly visit the Etheridge Shire with their Allied Health Team every 2-3 months. This team includes a Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapist, and Social Worker. Please contact CHHHS for more information.

Oral Health Team
The Oral Health Team from Atherton Hospital visit the Etheridge Shire every 3-4 months. Please contact CHHHS for more information.

Remote Clinics Nurse
Queensland Health also sends a Nurse who visits our more remote townships every fortnight on a trip from Ravenshoe to Greenvale. Please contact Ravenshoe Primary Health Clinic for more information.
