Georgetown Student Hostel is owned by the Etheridge Shire Council. It provides weekday accommodation for primary-aged (preschoolers to year 7) children who are not able to access primary school daily from where they live.

The hostel is operated by contracted managers and overseen by a committee of management comprising parents, hostel managers, a school representative and a council representative.

The hostel has an open policy whereby students are accepted regardless of race, religion, or disability.
