Much of the information we hold about our services, activities and business operations is available through other areas of this website.  If you are looking for information about council we encourage you to look for it on our website first. For further information visit http://www.rti.qld.gov.au/

About Information Privacy

The RTI Act is complemented by the Information Privacy Act 2009 (IP Act), which provides a right to access and amend your personal information.

The primary object of the IP Act is to provide for:

  • The fair collection and handling in the public sector environment of personal information; and
  • A right of access to, and amendment of, personal information in the government’s possession or under the government’s control unless, on balance, it is contrary to the public interest to give the access or allow the information to be amended.
